Audi A1 four part development
Jan 13th, 2011 by ck
By the end of 2011 Audi will launch the marketing of the A1-wheel drive equipped with “four”, currently involved in trials through the streets of Canada. As reported in recent months has therefore amended the Volkswagen PQ25 platform to install a four wheel drive system similar to those already proposed by the A3 and TT, with a viscous coupling Haldex electronically controlled and hydraulically activated (by a pack of clutch in oil bath ) mounted in front of the rear axle. On surfaces with perfect grip torque is distributed to 90-10 per cent, variable ratio up to 50-50 when the stations recorded a loss of adhesion. Also intended to evaluate the changes to the rear axle: the torsion beam (used by the A1 front-wheel drive) it hinders the passage of the drive shaft.
